totally having yacht play on a bunch of dates with us

basically, we brought yacht out with us before in 2007, when it was just jona alone, facing the cold, hard world, and it was awesome. so awesome, in fact, that the “honchos” (i’m one of the supposed “honchos”) over at DFA totally put out the brilliant See Mystery Lights last year, and have been psyched to psyee jona, with the addition of collaborative member and person-of-grave-merit claire l. evans, (see below)

make a great show better each time they play. NOW, and this rules, they have a brand-new live incarnation: The Straight Gaze (rob kieswetter, jeffrey brodsky, and d. rueben snyder–according to the team “for all intents and purposes a psychic extension of YACHT“).

for an indication of how sweet this will be, the band sent us this comment on the pairing: “we are plastic yin-yang bracelet to their serene mastery of the i ching. we strive only to complement and complicate them and theirs.”

so there’s that.

yacht will be appearing with lcd in dublin, london, birmingham, leeds, glasgow, bristol, amsterdam, brussels, berlin, luxembourg and paris. i think.

so, in an effort to make humans feel better, here is a lovely picture of an pretty animal which, though not very big, will totally kill you. ladies and gentledudes, i give you the blue ringed octopus:

also, as someone pointed out recently on facebook, we have significantly fewer fans than a pickle (i personally, am a fan of said pickle… great songs) or a dog in a tin foil hat. but lets see THEM put on a tour, is what i say. they will totally use in-ears and laptops. i KNOW it.

signing off, with significantly less of a “mind”, whilst mixes run of a
